At Copahost, we understand that some VPS users may require more than the standard single IP address allocated to their server for specific operational needs. To maintain network integrity and comply with best practices, we offer additional IP addresses under the following guidelines.
Availability and Limits
We provide up to 5 additional IP addresses per VPS server. Each extra IP incurs an additional cost, which will be detailed in your quote or billing statement. This limit ensures fair resource distribution and prevents overuse of our IP pools.
Justification Requirement
To prevent issues such as spam, malware distribution, or IP blacklisting—which could affect our entire network—we require a valid justification for each additional IP request. Acceptable reasons include:
- Hosting multiple SSL certificates for distinct domains (e.g., for e-commerce sites requiring unique IPs).
- Running separate services or applications that need isolated network identities.
- Compliance with certain regulatory or security standards.
Technical Details
All additional IPs assigned to your VPS will be from the same subnet as your primary IP. This simplifies configuration and ensures seamless integration with your server. Note that Copahost does not allocate entire /24 subnets (256 IPs) to individual customers, as this is reserved for larger infrastructure needs.
