Unlimited Databases . . . What does it really mean?

Postby Andrew » Fri Dec 11, 2009 6:31 am

This is actually often something people don't pay much detail to. It is "Unlimited Databases".

What does that really mean?

Well, first you have to understand that there's a difference between the words 'database' and 'database size'. Unlimited databases means that you can have as many databases as you want, but of what use is an unlimited database if the disk size for the database is just 50MB for example?

Do not be deceived by the number of databases a web host company is willing to offer.

Do a little research, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

I don't need unlimited databases but it's really nice to have them available in case you want to test some things or add new things to different databases every now and then.

Usually there is nothing like unlimited. It is simply unmemtered. You get some finite amount of databases but fairly large in number. So that is what unlimited databases are.

Does it mean that you can have 2 GB database space * 3 or more ?
What is the logic for offering multiple databases ?
Is the database space unlimited unlike the web hosting space .

They have one of the most popular hosting platforms, which currently hosts over a million websites. They're also one of the oldest hosting companies, founded in 1998.

They include a free point & click online site builder so you can create a website without any programming (easily, just by drag and drop).

They also have a great custom control panel with One Click installs of all popular software like Word press, Joomla, Forums, Chat, Galleries, Online stores and a lot more.
