Well I've heard it was possible to hide your IP address from other programs through a proxy server, but I am a bit new and I'm not sure how to accomplish this? Thanks for any help.

You can give this proxy a try to unblock those blocked websites; it works like a charm!

There really is no way to completely hide your IP address but there are ways to make it more difficult for them such that they would give up (provided you are not doing something that the FBI is interested in). The problem with your own proxy is that it's IP address is similar to your own.
