Need Solution on iptables

Postby irfansblog » Sun Dec 20, 2009 2:18 am

Does anyone really know a solution that will work to solve the openvz iptables issue to work properly with CSF firewall and don't get any modules error? I did it so many times and it never works properly, it seems something is also missing on all online tutorials, does anyone know a really complete solution?

You need to ask your host to enable required iptable modules in your vps.

I want to use open-source operating system for the first time. Currently, I used to install fedora core 5 on my server, the problem is I don't know how to share my internet connection. And I tried to visit some online forums but I was not satisfied with there given answer. They just recommended to configure iptables but there is no information in a way how to do it. Please help me..Thank you very much!

I wouldn't use Iptables for that...
I would apply the appropriate network settings for each adapter (hence each LAN network) then create static routes.
eth0 and eth1 are gateways for their respective networks, you just supply the static routes.

To be honest I really don't know. I've always restarted IPtables out habit. Even if it automatically scans the rules I want to be sure my changes are installed. It takes all of 2 seconds to restart IPtables so I'd suggest restarting IPtables period. If you are making a firewall change you have a reason for doing so and want to test it right way. So why chance that it automatically be re-read? If there is an error in my edits I want to see it right away and know about it right away.
